PSALMODY
FIRST PRAYER
Lord, have mercy on us and save us.
O Divine Watcher,
whom heavenly angels glorify and earthly beings praise,
in whom the dead place their hope,
for the glory of your name and the sake of your majesty
awaken the souls of those who have departed from us in the faith.
Forgive all the sins and faults they have committed
and grant them repose in your dwelling of light.
To you we shall give glory,
now and forever.
Amen.
PSALM OF THE DAY
Antiphon:
For a thousand years in your sight are as yesterday,
now that it is past.

PSALM 90: 1-4, 10, 12-14, 16-17
O Lord, you have been our refuge
through all generations.

Before the mountains were begotten
and the earth and the world were brought forth,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You turn man back to dust,
saying, “Return, O children of men.”

For a thousand years in your sight
are as yesterday, now that it is past, or as a watch of the night.

Seventy is the sum of our years,
or eighty, if we are strong.

And most of them are fruitless toil,
for they pass quickly and we drift away.

Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain wisdom of heart.

Return, O Lord! How long?
Have pity on your servants!

Fill us at daybreak with your kindness,
that we may shout for joy and gladness all our days.

Let your work be seen by your servants
and your glory by their children;

And may the gracious care of the Lord our God be ours;
prosper the work of our hands for us!
Prosper the work of our hands!

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
now and forever. Amen.

Antiphon:
For a thousand years in your sight are as yesterday,
now that it is past.

SECOND PRAYER
Lord, have mercy on us and save us.
Lord,
in your mercy and grace gather the souls of all the dead
into the dwelling place of your majesty.
Place them forever within the realm of your glory
and let the brightness of your splendor shine upon them.
Grant them to rejoice at your right hand with all the saints, and in joy and exultation they will give you glory
and thanksgiving forever.
Amen.
NUHRO (LIGHT OF HYMN)
The Light of the just and joy of the upright is Christ Jesus our Lord.
Begotten of the Father, he manifested himself to us.
He came to rescue us from darkness and to fill us with the radiance of his light.

0152
Day is dawning upon us; the power of darkness is fading away, From the true Light there arises for us the Light which illumines our darkened eyes.

His glory shines upon the world and enlightens the very depths of the abyss.
Death is annihilated, night has vanished, and the gates of Sheol are broken.
Creatures lying in darkness from ancient times are clothed in light.
The dead arise from the dust and sing because they have a Savior.

He brings salvation and grants us life.
He ascends to his Father on high.
He will return in glorious splendor and shed his light
on those gazing upon him.

Our King comes in majestic glory.
Let us light our lamps and go forth to meet him.
Let us find our joy in him, for he has found joy in us.
He will indeed rejoice us with his marvelous light.

Let us glorify the majesty of the Son and give thanks to the
almighty Father, who,
in an outpouring of love, sent him to us, to fill us with hope and salvation.

When he manifests himself, the saints awaiting him in
weariness and sorrow,
will go forth to meet him with lighted lamps.

The angles and guardians of heaven will rejoice in the glory of the just and upright people of earth;
together, crowned with victory, they will sing hymns and psalms.

Stand up then and be ready!
Give thanks to our King and Savior, who will come in great glory to gladden us with his marvelous light in his kingdom.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
Alleluia.

0153
THIRD PRAYER
Lord, have mercy on us and save us.
Lord,
in your mercy and grace,
gather the souls of all the departed,
the children of your holy Church,
and grant them to dwell in the heaven of joy,
where festive hymns resound.
Then they will unceasingly give you glory and thanksgiving,
now and forever.
Amen.
MORNING PSALMS
Psalm 148
Alleluia.
Praise the Lord from the heavens,
praise him in the heights;

Praise him, all you his angels,
praise him, all you his hosts.

Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.

Praise him, you highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens.

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for he commanded and they were created;

He established them forever and ever;
he gave them a duty which shall not pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
you sea monsters and all depths;

Fire and hail, snow and mist,
storm winds that fulfill his word;

You mountains and all you hills,
you fruit trees and all you cedars;

You wild beasts and all tame animals,
you creeping things and you winged fowl.

Let the kings of the earth and all peoples,
the princes and all the judges of the earth,

Young men too, and maidens,
old men and boys,

Praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;

His majesty is above earth and heaven,
and he has lifted up the horn of his people.

Be this his praise from all his faithful ones,
from the children of Israel, the people close to him.

Alleluia.
Psalm 149:1-6
Alleluia.
Sing to the Lord a new song
of praise in the assembly of the faithful.

Let Israel be glad in their maker,
let the children of Zion rejoice in their king.

Let them praise his name in the festive dance,
let them sing praise to him with timbrel and harp.

For the Lord loves his people,
and he adorns the lowly with victory.

Let the faithful exult in glory;
let them sing joy upon their couches;

Let the high praises of God
be in their throats.

Alleluia.

throughout the earth.
Prophets, apostles land martyrs, friends of Christ, intercede for the Church and her children;

READINGS
MAZMOORO
The Son of God will manifest himself among those who have
died, and they will hear his voice. They will come out
singing the glory of the mysterious power that raises them
from the tomb.
His voice resounds, the rocks split open, and the dead arise, singing of the glory and the mysterious power that raises
them from the tomb.
Depart from us, evil world, full of snares for sinners. Here at hand is the other world, filled with mercy and pardon for
contrite hearts.
SCRIPTURE READINGS
A Reading from the Book of Revelation
Revelation 15: 5-16: 21
After this I had another vision. The heavenly sanctuary which is the tent of witness opened up, an out of it came the seven angels holding the seven plagues. The angels were dressed in pure white linen, each with a sash of gold about the breast. One of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of the God who lives forever and ever. Then the sanctuary became so filled with the smoke which arose from God’s glory and might that no one could enter it until the seven plagues of the seven angels had come to an end.
I heard a might voice from the sanctuary say to the seven angels, “Go and pour out upon the earth the seven bowls of God’s wrath!”

0598
The first angel went out, an when he poured out his bowl on the earth, severe and festering boils broke out on the men who had accepted the mark of the beast or worshiped its image.
The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea. The sea turned to blood like that of a corpse, an every creature living in the sea died.
The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs. These also turned to blood.
Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters cry out: “You are just, O Holy One who is and who was, in passing this sentence! To those who shed the blood of saints and prophets, you have given blood to drink; they deserve it.” Then I heard the altar cry out: “Yes, Lord God Almighty, your judgment are true and just!”
The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun. He was commissioned to burn men with fire. Those who were scorched by the intense heat blasphemed the name of God who had power to send these plagues, but they did not repent or give him due honor.
The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast. Its kingdom was plunged into darkness; men bit their tongues in pain and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their suffering and their boils. But they did not turn away from their wicked deeds.
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates. Its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East. I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet; these spirits were devils who worked prodigies. They went out to assemble all the kings of the earth for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. Be on your guard! I come like a thief. Happy the man who stays wide awake and fully clothed for fear of going naked and exposed for all to see! The devils then assembled the kings in a place called in Hebrew
“Armageddon.”
Finally, the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the empty air. From the throne in the sanctuary came a loud voice which said, “It is finished!” There followed lightning flashes and peals of thunder, then a violent earthquake. Such was its violence hat there has never been one like it in all the time men have lived on the earth. The great city was split into three parts, and the other Gentile cities also fell. God remembered Babylon the great, giving her the cup filled with the blazing wine of his

0599
wrath. Every island fled and mountain disappeared. Giant hailstones like huge weights came crashing down on mankind from the sky, and men blasphemed God for the plague of hailstones, because this plague was so severe.
