O Lord,
you accept prayers and bestow gifts.
You heard the prayer of Joachim and Anne and gave them a
daughter, who is blessed among all women.
Hear our prayers on this day in memory of the one who was
preserved from sin,
and through her intercession, admit us into your presence with purity of heart and sanctity of soul.
With her we shall glorify and praise you,
now and for ever. Amen.

Lord, have mercy on us and save us.

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
The Almighty has done great things for me,
holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,

Lord, have mercy on us and save us.
O God,
make us your dwelling and sacrificial altars.
May we be like Mary in whom you dwelt in all purity and
who was a pleasing sacrifice.

NUHRO (HYMN OF LIGHT)
The Light of the just and joy of the upright is Christ Jesus,
our Lord.
Begotten of the Father, he manifested Himself to us.
He came to rescue us from darkness and to fill us with the
radiance of his light.
Day is dawning upon us; the power of darkness is fading away.
From the true Light there arises for us the light which illumines our darkened eyes.
His glory shines upon the world and enlightens the very depths of the abyss.
Death is annihilated, night has vanished, and the gates of Sheol are broken.
Creatures lying in darkness from ancient times are clothed in
light.
The dead arise from the dust and sing because they have a Savior.

He brings salvation and grants us life.
He ascends to his Father on high.
He will return in glorious splendor and shed his light on those gazing upon him.
Our King comes in majestic glory,
Let us light our lamps and go forth to meet him.
Let us find our joy in him, for he has found joy in us.
He will indeed rejoice us with his marvelous light.
Let us glorify the majesty of the Son and give thanks to
the almighty Father, who,
in an outpouring of love, sent him to us, to fill us with
hope and salvation.
When he manifests himself, the saints awaiting him in
weariness and sorrow,
will go forth to meet him with lighted lamps.
The angels and guardians of heaven will rejoice in the
glory of the just and upright people of the earth;
together, crowned with victory, they will sing hymns and psalms.
Stand up then and be ready!
Give thanks to our King and Savior, who will come in great
glory to gladden us with his marvelous light in his kingdom.

Lord, have mercy on us and save us.

may we celebrate the feast of your Mother with pure hearts.

Lord God, Creator of all and worker of marvels,
in your mercy you desired to come to us, after we lost our
original beauty.
For this reason you created the Virgin of Nazareth,
the perfection of humanity.
She it is whom Isaiah foretold, whom Ezekiel described,
and the books of Wisdom and Proverbs depicted.
Full of grace and blessed among women,
the Holy Spirit sanctified her from the moment of
her conception.

Saint Ephrem, the harp of the Holy Spirit, referred to her
when he said:
“Lord, only you and your Mother are innocent of sin;
there is no fault in you and your Mother is without stain.”
We, the children of the Church celebrate this feast and proclaim the wonders of God:
Blessed is the One who raised a daughter of man above
angels and men,

On this day we ask you, Lord, to raise up your Church
and her shepherds.
In your providence protect our patriarch, our pastors
and our priests.
Lord, protect your Church from all error and heresy;

All the people were greatly astonished. They bowed down and worshiped God, saying with one accord, “Blessed are you, our God, who today have brought to nought the enemies of your people.” Then Uzziah said to her: “Blessed are you, daughter, by the Most High God, above all the women on earth; and blessed be the Lord God, the creator of heaven and earth, who guided your blow at the head of the chief of our enemies. Your deed of hope will never be forgotten by those who tell of the might of God. May God make this redound to your everlasting honor, rewarding you with blessings, because you risked your life when your people were being oppressed, and you averted our disaster, walking uprightly before our God.” And all the people answered, “Amen! O God,
